ULOS–UT–OUT – Outdoor learning conference in Finland
SYKLI Environmental College is once again involved in organising Finland’s largest outdoor learning event, ULOS–UT–OUT (UUO). It brings together hundreds of teachers, educators, instructors, decision-makers, researchers and students. The event will be held in three languages, with extensive national and international cooperation, at Sammon koulu in Tampere and in the city’s urban natural environments. The programme will be available in Finnish, Swedish and English. Join us in Tampere on 9–11 June 2026!
Theme: Going Out wild!
The consequences of climate change and the loss of nature depend on the actions we take today. We must be able to respond to the growing concern among children and young people about the state of our living environment. Schools, daycare centers, and youth work need new kinds of solutions to build a desirable future. Planetary well-being, fusion pedagogy, diverse nature as a learning environment, and environmental citizenship are the main themes of the 2026 event.
The event program will examine the theme of Going Out Wild from four different perspectives:
- Wild in nature: diverse nature, the human relationship with nature
- Wild in the city: urban environments and social influence
- Wild pedagogy: different pedagogical solutions and combining them
- Too wild? The well-being effects of nature, as well as safety and risks
You can find more information about this event on the Ulos–Ut–Out website.
